FRP Compression - Molded Septic Tank Introduction

1. Product Overview

The FRP compression-molded septic tank uses SMC FRP as raw material and is integrally formed by hydraulic press molding. The septic tank made by this process has no cracks, good tightness, and is not easy to leak, effectively avoiding the losses and damages caused by water leakage of traditional septic tanks.

2. Volume Specifications

Common effective volumes of FRP compression-molded septic tanks are 0.5 cubic meters, 1 cubic meter, 1.5 cubic meters, 2 cubic meters, 2.5 cubic meters, etc. Some manufacturers can also produce products with larger volumes to meet different scale requirements. Generally, a 1.5 -cubic-meter septic tank is selected for a three-person family, which is suitable for rural areas.

3. Principle of Septic Tank Sewage Treatment

The septic tank mainly uses the principles of sedimentation and anaerobic fermentation to treat sewage. When the sewage flows into the septic tank from the inlet pipe, it first enters the sedimentation area. Here, solid impurities with a relatively large specific gravity, such as feces, paper scraps, and sediment, quickly settle to the bottom of the tank under the action of gravity, forming a sludge layer. While suspended solids with a relatively light specific gravity float on the water surface, forming a scum layer. The relatively clear sewage after sedimentation will flow into the anaerobic fermentation area. In this area, a large number of anaerobic bacteria decompose the settled sludge and the remaining organic matter in the sewage. In an oxygen - free environment, anaerobic bacteria gradually decompose complex organic matter into simple inorganic substances, such as gases like methane and carbon dioxide, as well as water and inorganic salts. This process can not only reduce the volume of sludge but also decrease the organic matter content in the sewage, preliminarily purifying the sewage. The sewage treated by anaerobic fermentation is then discharged through the outlet pipe, entering the subsequent sewage treatment system or being directly discharged into the environment (meeting the discharge standards). The sludge settled at the bottom of the tank needs to be cleaned regularly after a period of accumulation to ensure the normal operation and treatment effect of the septic tank.

4. Installation Method

- Site Selection: Select a location with a lower terrain, firm soil quality, and away from the foundations of buildings and underground pipelines. Keep a certain distance from residential houses to prevent odors from affecting residents' lives. At the same time, consider the convenience of sewage inflow and outflow.

- Foundation Treatment: According to the size and weight of the septic tank, compact the installation site. If the foundation soil quality is poor, a concrete foundation is required to ensure that the septic tank will not be damaged due to foundation settlement after installation.

- Product Assembly (for some assembled products): If it is an assembled FRP compression - molded septic tank, assemble each component on - site according to the instructions. Use sealing rubber strips or rubber rings to seal the connection parts to ensure that the connections are tight and do not leak.

- Overall Lifting: Use a crane or other equipment to lift and transport the septic tank to the installation position. Pay attention to protecting the septic tank during the lifting process to avoid damage caused by collisions. In places where a crane is not convenient to use, it can be carried by multiple people.

- Pipeline Connection: Connect the inlet pipe and the outlet pipe to ensure a firm connection. The inlet pipe should be slightly higher than the outlet pipe to ensure the smooth inflow and outflow of sewage. Use heat - shrinkable sleeves or rubber rings to seal the connection between the pipeline and the septic tank to prevent water leakage.

- Backfilling Soil: After the septic tank is installed and fixed, carry out backfilling soil operations. High - quality soil should be selected for backfilling, and it should be compacted in layers to avoid damage to the septic tank caused by hard objects such as stones in the backfill soil. The height of the backfill soil should meet the design requirements and is generally slightly higher than the ground to prevent water from flowing back.

- Inspection and Acceptance: After the installation is completed, check the tightness of the septic tank, and whether the pipeline connections are correct and firm. Conduct a water - testing test, observe for any leakage, and ensure that the installation quality meets the requirements.

General Instructions for FRP Compression-molded Products

1. Regarding Mechanical Indicators

For FRP compression-molded products, the mechanical indicators are positively correlated with the content of glass fibers in the raw material SMC. Without special requirements, the glass fiber content is generally around 22%. The corresponding tensile strength is generally greater than 50MPa, and the flexural strength is generally greater than 150MPa, subject to the finished product test.

2. Regarding Flame Retardancy

For products with flame retardancy requirements, the oxygen index can generally be made to be above 32. Of course, a higher oxygen index can also be achieved, subject to specific requirements.

3. Regarding Errors

Under normal circumstances, the dimensional error is approximately 0.3 millimeters. However, in the case of long strip-shaped and flat-shaped compression-molded products, the error may sometimes exceed 0.5mm.

4. Regarding Surface Coatings

(1) FRP products molded without a coating are generally not recommended for direct outdoor use. Due to long-term weathering, the surface layer of the products will be powdered. When viewed from the side against the light, many shiny fibers can be seen.

(2) For products such as compression-molded water channels, since an aesthetic appearance is not required, it is sufficient to leave enough corrosion allowance during the design.

(3) For highway anti-glare panels, in order to avoid powdering, the current surface coating is a combination of a chicken skin texture on the product surface and powder spraying. This coating is a patented technology that can ensure that the appearance will not be powdered within 8 years. That is to say, theoretically, the FRP body inside the coating will not be eroded until 8 years later, and the overall appearance can withstand more than 20 years. This is a cost-balanced solution because this technology does not require a high cost.

(4) The best way to ensure that the product appearance is not eroded by wind and rain is, of course, baking paint, which is currently the most costly manufacturing method. This is commonly seen in the outer shell parts of trucks.

(5) The product uses high-grade color paste instead of a coating to resist ultraviolet rays and weathering. For example, aviation warning balls use this technology. To some extent, this is also a kind of attempt because aviation warning balls place more emphasis on not fading rather than surface powdering.

5. Regarding Molds

For these compression-molded products, there must be a sufficient quantity of demand to be able to share the cost of the molds. Of course, for products for which we already have molds, they can be directly purchased without any quantity restrictions.

6. Regarding the Maximum Size of Compression-molded Products

Our company can undertake compression-molded products with a maximum size of 4000×3000. However, it is worth mentioning that the larger the product, the higher the mold cost and test cost.

7. Regarding the Transport Volume

The products uploaded by our company have already taken into account how to minimize the overall volume during transportation. For box-shaped compression-molded products, slopes have been considered to minimize the overall volume when stacking. If you must purchase box-shaped products with a square shape, the freight may be higher than the product price.

8. Regarding Design

Many people may still not be able to find where these products are used from the products we have uploaded. In fact, if you can find the previous metal products in our company or in this project and replace them with these FRP compression-molded products, it will be a good design. For example, we replaced the original aluminum shell at the rear of the searchlight with an FRP compression-molded one, and replaced the wheel arches on both sides of the tractor seat made of iron sheet with FRP ones. These are all good designs.
